Our School
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes bring out the best in everyone. The moment you walk in, you’ll see that this is one big family. Students work hard while they play, make friends, and enjoy their time training. Everyone is supporting each other as kids learn to discipline, adults improve their fitness, beginners grasp the basics, and competitors work on advanced skills. We make sure to stay adaptive in our training so everyone succeeds! On top of our efforts on the mats, we also make sure we come together as a community. This includes fun holiday parties and Parents’ Night Out events. We make sure to have everything you need at Blitz Flow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
History
When Ygor Mauricio was presented the opportunity to lead a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in Alvin, he knew it was time to accomplish a lifelong goal. The previous owner of our school – formerly known as Still Waters Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – offered him a chance to take over – and the answer was an easy yes.
Ygor’s dream to own a BJJ school started in Brazil when his uncle introduced him to the art at five years old. Ever since, he has devoted his life to Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts. This passion helped him earn his black belt in 2019 and set him up to lead others. Now in Alvin, Ygor is doing everything he can to change lives through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Our training is designed to help everyone – no matter where they are in their journey. We invite beginners, hobbyists, competitors, and anywhere in between to come in to train. We can help you wherever you are on your path!
We know starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be scary. Well, let us take that fear away! We make sure that our school is as beginner-friendly as possible for newcomers to feel comfortable on this new adventure.
One of the things we pride ourselves on is helping women through Jiu-Jitsu. We have built a program and culture that is supportive and helps them every step of the way.
Much of our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training is self-defense-focused. We make sure that all our students gain the ability and confidence to defend themselves if needed.
We don’t stay rigid in our approach. In fact, we take great pride in staying flexible in helping our students. This allows us to provide individualized attention and care to each student’s situation.
Martial arts has been in owner Ygor Mauricio’s life since he was five years old. He began his training with his uncle in Brazil and hasn’t looked back since.
